Film locations at Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House houses one of the most important private art collections in Britain. Spanning 4,000 years, the collection includes works by artists such as Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Canaletto, and Lucian Freud. Particularly noteworthy is the sculpture gallery, which features works by Antonio Canova, Bertel Thorvaldsen, and Rudolf Schadow and is considered one of the largest private collections of classical sculptures in England.

The gardens of Chatsworth cover 105 acres and are a masterpiece of garden artistry. Designed by Lancelot "Capability" Brown in the 18th century, they offer a harmonious blend of formal and informal areas, including the Cascade Garden, the Wedding Garden, and the Herb Garden. A special highlight is the fountain, which at 90 meters tall is one of the highest water features in Britain.

Chatsworth House has been used as a filming location for several movies, including the 2005 adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice," where it portrayed Pemberley, Mr. Darcy's estate. Scenes for the 2008 film "The Duchess," which explores the life of Georgiana Cavendish, the Duchess of Devonshire, were also filmed at Chatsworth.

I absolutely love Chatsworth a fantastic place to see the art and contents of the house are just wow. Been to the Christmas market and thoroughly enjoyed it. Prices for every pocket food bit expensive we took our own. We took a cheeky hip flask for hot chocolate hehe. It's definitely worth visiting I will go at Christmas again, it made me day very snowy dress warmly.

Great walks around chatsworth and beeley with a lovely coffee from the shop.at chatsworth house. Disabilities: can be difficult to take some of the walking routes around the bumpy tracks without the right equipment. Always tell someone where you are and make sure you have good phone battery just incase. I am unsure of access in and around the house.

Worth the chats in this house!... The Guides are friendly and will willingly engage in conversation and answer your questions. The house has some fascinating objects inside and outside. As you would expect, there are hidden stories behind objects, room themes, portraits etc - ask the guides - you will find this really worth doing, it's truly a remarkable place. The gardens are out of this world. I cannot wait to explore all of it again. Great fun and great for all the family. There are lifts in the house, and bookable vehicles to help those enjoy the house and gardens with mobility issues. I witnessed the staff being very helpful to a number of people on our visit.
